ERCA Objectives

ERCA is working to deliver the following objectives:

• To build on the collective strengths of the national and regional rural movements and empower them at regional, national and international levels
• To support the formation of national and regional rural movements in areas where these do not exist
• To enable exchange of information & mutual support on best practice, experience and policy
• To support rural communities to gain confidence in their ability to help themselves and build on local identity
• To demonstrate the possibilities for participatory democracy
• To enable informed debate on the future of rural areas and a better understanding of the processes of rural development
• To strengthen the influence of the national rural movements on regional, national and EU policy which impacts on rural communities
